Vendetta is one of those books you pick up and read when you're at the beach, or you're on the sofa and it's snowing outside (basically this whole week), or you're avoiding work (currently me). It's comfortable, thrilling and everything a YA novel should be. I've re-read this book more times than I can count and I still can't put it down. It's fresh and modern with the perfect action to romance ratio that gives it permanent residency on your bookshelf. I can promise you that this summer thriller will not disappoint.

The books opens up in Chicago. The summer's hot, and Sophie is minding her uncle's restaurant when a mysterious jar of honey shows up, which is enough to set her eccentric uncle, Jack, on edge. But his reaction is nothing compared to the stir the five brothers cause when they move into the old, haunted Priestly mansion. After a late night encounter with one of them during her walk back from work, Sophie becomes drawn to the family, especially Nic, and unaware of the danger they pose to her and her family. The past is about to catch Sophie, despite her innocence in all this, this sins of the father have become that of the daughter, and just when her uncle is conveniently nowhere to be found.

Book one of the Blood for Blood saga is a thrilling read full of crime, murder and romance. There are some shocking twists to look forward to, and characters to fall in love with (Luca). This YA novel is witty, clever and addictive, and the rest of the series is equally as good. If you're a fan of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, then this is definitely the book for you. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Now that I've done my post, I might read a few pages of it again...or all of it.
